  • Prepared for the beating: Bought a new DD

*UPDATED* Now have the pics up. I have all 4 of the rims (drivers front) just havent gottne them all on it yet.

Allright, I'm ready. Give it to me. I went and bought a new DD the other day, and its a....gasp...... MUSTANG!

Now, I really, really tried to find another Bird, really I did. Went and looked at a couple that were absolute, complete, wrecks. Couldn't find a decent one in the price range I was looking at for a winter beater/DD. I'm kind of crazy in that I like to drive rear wheel drives in the snow. Throw on some snow tires and some salt in the trunk and your good to go.

This Mustang popped up on Craigslist while I was looking for the bargain price of $900. Runs EXCELLENT, needs new shocks, has some light front end damage. So I figured, what the heck. Buy it, drive it for a couple of months, do some work on it, and dump it in the spring for more than I have into it. So I did some checking, and the parts are ridiculouly cheap. I picked up the drivers side fender, hood, rear spoiler, drivers side ground effect, drivers side headlight, trunk carpeting, and a rim for $156!! Total! Talk about cheap parts.

So for the moment, I'm a Stang guy. That'll teach GM to kill Pontiac.

    ( Of course, I'm working on getting a 72 T/A from a Texas boneyard as well. )

I don't have problems with Mustangs.

        At least it's American.

Just dont act like your the shit now good pick up for a winter car. I almost bought another F-body but 6 banger for a winter car... I probably should have.

That's a smokin' deal! Like you said, the parts are super cheap for those cars. Especially that body style.

Did you ever go look at that 'bird in Davison?

Pay no attention to the 2 T/A's for sale thread....

I did get rid of a couple of project cars to get this one, or rather to clear some room out for this one and the second gen I'm trying to get.

judging by where it is made, but it may have a lower domestic parts content?

-nice pickup, I have no problem with mustangs especially if you can get one at that price.

Ford makes sure that its domestic content is mostly USA for the Mustang. Gives it leverage that the other two dont have.
