You'll love it! I had one for a bit. My only complaint was the interior. GM's recent vehicles feel way to mass produced and "plasticy" inside.

thanks!! i would recommend this car to anyone who is interested in buying on, i dont think you will be dissapointed!!!. yeah the interior isnt the greatest, lots of plastic but i think it still looks good,. i really like the leather seats with suede inserts. the motor is really quite and the exhaust tone sounds pretty ballsy from the inside for being stock but it could use something a little louder. the ride is really stiff but not uncomfortable. overall i give it a 9.237 out of 10

Nice ride. My wife has her second GP GXP and she loves it. Suede seating, HUD, tap shift, etc; very nice car. It's a shame they discontinued it; let alone the entire Pontiac line (b-astards).

My GXP is stealth gray as well. It should really be called stealth teal in Texas, but I guess you Michigan guys actually get clouds that make it look gray.

I've owned it since January and really love everything about it, except the price of everything for it!

Just wait until you damage a tire, or worse, need a replacement set! I had to have the front left tire replaced and it cost me over $320. 8-O

I'm only averaging 13 mpg according to the driver's information center. That's with occasional highway usage, but mostly city and traffic. I've never calculated it based on the 'ole "gone this many miles on the Trip, and got this many gallons of gas" method I use in the Camaros.

Hopefully you were able to purchase a full extended warranty on it because these are known for being too powerful for the transmission to handle over time, and seem to have outer tie rod issues or other front suspension/chassis issues. The weight balance is something close to 60/40, so there's a lot of weight and power being handled on those front wheels.

Fun car and I love the interior, 6-CD In-Dash player, and heads up display. The heated seats and dual-climate controls rule too. The price of the tires doesn't please me.

As for tap-shift, it's not good for performance driving, particularly for a 0-60 run. It's good for downshifting to prevent from using up your brake pads as quickly (and helps prevent having tons of brake dust on the front wheels). I always downshift to 2nd as long as I'm going less than 40 mph to slow down for stop signs and red lights. Don't downshift to 1st unless you're going less than 15 mph or it'll slow you down almost as fast as slamming on the brakes! It's a good way to get rear ended, so don't do it!

Shifting into 4th while maintaining 30 or 35 mph on a flat surface will get you better gas mileage than being in Drive which will have you in 3rd gear at that speed. Going up hill in 4th gear at less than 45 mph is going to give you bad gas mileage, so make sure you're in 3rd.

If you like manual mode and like driving with it (like I do) your normal upshift is about 2,200 RPM I'd estimate.

If you're going highway speeds... just put it in Drive. Don't pretend you're cool and do something stupid like downshift to 2nd to pass a Semitruck. Although 2nd maxes out at I think around 80 mph, I haven't heard of anything so stupid in my life as dropping down to second gear on the highway and flooring it to pass a Semi.

p.s. From what little I know about what is "factory correct" I believe you have either the '07 or '08 wheels or at least center caps. I'm fairly certain '06 center caps were all black like mine.
