Nate, that's nothing new Pontiac has been doing it for years. All the Chrome Grand Am wheels were done with the same process, it is pretty cool and they seem to hold up well too.West Michigan Pontiac Club

the 300's have had the same thing for years. personally i think it's cheap and crappy. another reason for people to complain about the lack of quality in our cars. if i pay for chrome wheels, i want chrome wheels, not covers.Originally posted by 92conv View PostNate, that's nothing new Pontiac has been doing it for years. I disagree with you guys, I think its a brilliant idea and it probably holds up way better than real chrome that always peels. and when you do damage one, its cheap to fix. Besides, you cannot tell the difference just looking at it.-Joel

why is that shitty?Originally posted by MP81 View PostWow...that's shitty.
the industry std has always been to offer a base level rim w/ a wheel cover(hub cap), GM just happens to do a nicer job than most in the cosmetic styling dept, many people now can't tell it is a cover - if your want a cast rim those are available as an upgrade

If I remember right the "Chrome Clad" wheels on a Grand Am intially cost something like $595 extra....later years they became part of a package deal and the over all cost was down.
"Chrome Clad" is not like a hupcap, it can't be taken off and put on...it is permanently adhered to the rim. It is very durable and fairly easy to maintain compared to real chrome.West Michigan Pontiac Club
