  • Then and now.. 56k Don't bother!

I was asked to do this on another site so thought I'd share.. Take a look if interested, then and now pics and details.
Where to begin? Bought my car in Jan of 2006 after I retired. She’s a 02 WS6 and had 9,024 miles when I bought it.. Going to be hard but I’ll do my best to get you from then to now. Here’s how it looked when I bought it:
Starting with the exterior, pretty plain other than the rims and tint. Unsure why the original owner badged it a WS7?

Here’s how it looks now. Changes include side trim delete, Pewter Trans Am door letters removed and replaced with factory gloss black. WS7 replaced with Carbon Fiber WS6 badge. Rear center Trans Am panel replaced with custom painted panel(silver chameleon). PONTIAC letters filled with black decals. Front Phoenix covered with American flag decals. Car also has 2 looks, pro touring or Drag, depending on what rims I run.

Next we’ll go with the interior. First when I bought it:

Only real changes here are replaced the nitrous gauge with a digital tach w/shiftlight, removed dual nitrous bottles from rear and mounted 1 bottle between the seats, removed stock door sills and replaced with chrome.

Car is currently in the shop getting an 8 point chrome moly roll bar installed and gforce 5 point cam locks. Roll bar will be painted to match the car and cleared.

Next we’ll go with suspension. Sorry I have no as I bought it pics, but came with SFC’s, adj Panhard bar, QA1 12 way adj shocks front and rear. Fronts are coilover. Since buying I have added Chrome Moly tubular adj LCA’s, Spohn Chassis mount adj torque arm, had the front shocks revalved to “R” series for drag racing, Spohn pro series anti roll rear drag sway bar and am replacing the front springs with QA1 325 lb drag springs.
Chassis mount torque arm(also seen in pic is dual electric low profile cutouts)

You can see the LCA’s as well

    new coils

rear sway bar(this thing is heavy duty!!!)
    Old

    New

Ok, now I guess it’s under the hood time. When purchased it came with a Volant CAI, SLP headers, Mufflex 4” exhaust, nitrous(never used as far as I know) and a mild cam.
Dates in these pics are wrong.. They were taken Jan of 06.

Since purchase I have added Yella terra 1.7 non adjustable roller rockers, MTI racing Billet TB, PPG Torch red LS6 intake(sold my black LS6 to a buddy), stock WS6 air induction with carbon fiber lid, JAAM ram air kit, Valve covers polished, Coil packs relocated under the cowl, billet caps and covers, wire mod, hood latch cable mod, line lock, Nitro Daves 78 MM nitrous plate system with a 100 shot(for now). I’m sure I missed something, too hard to remember everything…lol Here’s how she progressed over the last couple years.

    coils packs under cowl

    hood latch mod

    wire mod

I think this brings us up to date, there are quite a few more mods that I didn’t list, but my mind is getting feeble and hard to remember everything.. I will update as the roll bar is completed and I am also having some top secret paint done and 1 body mod.. Any questions feel free to ask! Thanks for looking and sorry for the long read.. Larry

Uh oh, you may not like this. I'm going to guess that your car is not an original WS6 car. Badgeing it a WS7 is what people do when they want the badge, but don't want to lie. It is a way of acknowledging that it is a clone car

Awesome thread, Larry! I enjoyed seeing the transformation.

Oh...it is WS7, for some reason, I thought it always said "W5.7", haha.

RPO code on the door shows it as a WS6.. I was told that the owner changed it because he did a cam and other changes and that qualified it to be called a WS7.. It was a wierd story...

Without a doubt, an awesome thread Larry. Unfortunatly I haven't done enough to my car that you can notice a difference.

EDIT: Whoo, I didn't ruin your day. That is wierd, I haven't ever heard that one before.

Thanks man. I bought the car from the 2nd owner and that was the first thing I researched(RPO codes) before I bought it(when i noticed the WS7).. He told me the WS7 story, something about if you do certain perfomance mods you could upgrade to the WS7 to show you weren't just an average WS6. Hell, ya got me..
