  • Pics of my Chevelle

This is my dreamcar, which I am fortunate enough to have purchased 3 and a half years ago. 1970 Chevelle SS 454, fathom blue, white stripes, turbo 400 automatic trans, 12 bolt rear. It is not numbers matching and I don't have any paperwork, but I'm about 90% sure it's a real SS car (no you can't tell by the VIN or trim tag in '70.) I don't really care about all that anyway since I bought it to enjoy and I'm not afraid to drive it.

The bodywork and paint had already been done and was mostly complete but it need a lot of electrical and mechanical work. There's still a lot to do to it, but it is getting to look very respectable and I've won a few awards with it last year. I have also driven it to shows 2 and almost 4 hours away with zero issues so that's the most important thing.

              WTF!!!
This is a smaller forum for CAMAROS mostly in MI.
How is it that we have THREE members named Brian who all own a 1970 Chevelles!! Your chevelle better not have elctro-tip wiper too!!(Me ane the other Brian have that option of 331 units)

Nice Chevelle! I love the functional cowl hood. I wanted to add that to my car but it being a small block and all the extra goodies(flapper assembly, air cleaner, actuators, seals, harness, etc) to make it work it was gonna cost too much money.
Is that a corvette steering wheel?

My chevells should be getting some colors in the next month or two. Its currently naked.

Yes, I only live 5 miles from there. They have a huge car show there every fall. They had 450 cars at the last one.

Very cool. I don't think I have the wiper thing, since I have no idea what you're talking about My "functional" cowl induction is not functioning yet either. If you look at the engine pic you can see I don't have the correct air cleaner assembly. That's been on the to do list for a while now. The steering wheel is the optional Deluxe wheel for '70 Chevelles, similar to a Corvette one, but I don't think they're exactly the same.

                    Hi Brian,

Nice pics. Hey, it's gonna be right around zero here tonight, I'll bet you miss the "change in seasons" you used to have when you lived "up north", huh?

So, you plan to add the air cleaner with the hood seal to the Chevelle, any other plans? Looks like you have 15X8 Corvette Rally Wheels on there now with '67 center caps. Any plans for the original "Chevelle/Camaro Z28" wheels or mags?

I always thought you made a good choice going with a blue Chevelle. The more common red ones are very cool, but there seems to be so many around, that a blue one is a nice change.

I hope to see you guys this summer.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

Gorgeous car man. Personally my favorite year was 72' for the Chevelle, but that car is awesome. One of the only cars I always thought would look weird if it DIDN'T have the stripes.
