I know. I had 2 first gen Blazers with the 4.3 and had to do that to get to the rear plugs. Just looks like a lot more crap on this later model Vortech though.

Prices went up on the 09 models by about $1300. For one with the premium package(leather, auto climate etc), sport package(19" rims, special pedals and steering wheel), and sun roof is $32,950 if I remember right. They had Employee pricing specials and the 09's qualified and that brought a loaded one down to just over $31K.

No offense intended, I just thought you'd all like to laugh at me a little for being illiterate.

Not offended. I know better than to get offended by something said online. It takes quite a bit to really offend me.

Truck looks like it's in excellent condition, the interior looks spotless; but i have heard that those trucks are a ton of maintenance and that the 4.3 vortech is not a very good engine. My friend has one in his trailblazer, and he said he wished he would have gotten the full blown v8 because it would get better gas mileage. I'm not sure how they are in the jimmy's or blazzers but good luck to you. Anyways excellent collection, I love those G8's they kind of remind me of a Mitsubishi evolution, but with more power and better interior.

                    Congrat Wade. Nice lookin Jimmy.

Never heard of any problem with the 4.3 other then they don't get the greatest mileage.

Only real Problem I know of on the S-series is that they like thier balljoints. Only vehicle I have ever seen that can chew up a set in under 20k miles.

unless you've owned a 4.3 vortec you've been mis informed. they are a great, very strong motor. they will in most cases run to 200k+ without rebuild. mine has 110k on it and it runs perfect. as for changing the plugs. it's not too difficult. definitely a lot easier than a LT1. haha. i think when i did mine all i did was pull off the air intake and that was about it. it's not too bad. but ya as for gas mileage im getting about 18city 22hwy... not the greatest but i also have a heavy foot more often than not. lol

4.3's are one of the best motor's GM has made along with the 3.8. It's essentially the same motor that's been in use since the mid 80's. There's TONS of 4.3's out there with 150-200K miles and still going. I had a 91 Blazer with 191K on it and drove it to 200K before trading it in on something else.

Also never had issues with balljoints or wheel bearings on any of mine. This is my 10th S series vehicle.
