  • Track Rental Pics and Vids

Campbell (c0ncept), Seb (Yellow vette with blue tape ) and I went out to Milan today for a track rental and it was freaking amazing. Only about 45 or so cars and 3 hours of as many runs as possible surrounded by loads of force iducted vettes I also managed to run my new PB!

    1.63 60'
    7.43 1/8
    92.58mph 1/8
    11.68 1/4
    115.39mph 1/4

Unfortunatly I think I blew a head gasket as well and had to drive home with the car backfiring like a crazy mofo At least I beat the black camm'd C6 ZO6 beforehand. Mike will post of vids soon I'm sure.

    Hey,
You were there from 11- 2 Correct?

My Father and Mike Welsch organize this track day every year before woodward for the past 4 years. I wish I could have gone but I had to trailer two corvettes to woodward and hold down the fort at work. Hopfully next year I will be able to skip work and see what kind of times my chevelle will run.

Do you remember seeing a yellow 1967 vette with a 532 engine?
That is my dad car. Well your not the only one to have problems with your car.
The Willys that runs 9's spun a bearing and has to be trailers back to FL. My dads secondaries were not kicking in so needless to say my six cylinder could have kept up with it.

My dad said they had a great turn out.

Yeah I saw your dads car and that Willys was amazing, I still can't believe they drove it like that all the way from Florida but thats horrible to hear it spun a bearing and also about your dad's car. Hope you'll be out next year it was by far the best track day I've ever been to.

Yea thats what they kept saying saying.... but they were stretching the truth(I think). They also brought a trailer so, I think they towed it up here and were telling everyone he drove it.

I don't understand why people lie about stupid shit. Its like saying you had sex with the hottest girl in school and a week later just to find out your full of shit.
What are you doing beating on your car? Are you planning on selling a borken car?

I'm beating on my car because thats what its built for, to drive it hard. I wanted to get a new PB this time out because its probably my last and unfortunatly my head gasket went. Of course I'm not an idiot who would sell a broken car and it will be running top notch when sold, probably be back to stock anyways, but I'm not gonna lie to anyone. I drive this car hard and have paid the price on it thats what its all about. Besides GM head gaskets are $30 a pair and some coolant and thats it aside from a day or two of work.

Congrats on the PB Jeff, nice numbers!! I hear ya about beating the shit out of them.. I beat on mine all the time, that's what they were made for.. Sorry to hear about the Headgaskets, least it's a simple fix.. Hoping to hit the track again in October and finally get some nitrous numbers..

Thanks a lot guys I am definatly psyched and now it may be time to tear the car down and sell it or let it go as is. It kills me as I know its got so much more in it with a gear and some suspension but priorities are changing.

I only asked because I know he was planning on selling the car in some form. If it were mine, I wouldn't beat the crap out, I hate fixing things because you have to. I would rather fix things because I want to.

Yeah didn't mean to gang up on you but I'd rather risk breaking the car and enjoy it the last time at the track then not go at all, this car is my one true hobby right now and it'll be tough to let go considering I have as much into it as the car cost probably and its all paid off ect.

I consider my car my beater

I know Jeffery the whip has that 10.99 in it with some suspension and that gear I think.

Well everyone at Milan said they were running slower, some up to 10mph. So that right there tells me the car could have run better in cooler air and had the head gasket not went. Did you get a chance to upload any more vids Mike?
