  • New Toy!!!!

Well after not having a bike for a few years I finally found one that I could have some fun with. About a week ago I bought this 1983 Honda Nighthawk CB650SC and it was in primer and ran like crap. I just finished giving it a two tone paint job and got it running better but not great. It has a full header and exhaust on it and the carbs were rejetted to match the exhaust. Hopefully if everything works out good this will help me be able to save some money to put toward the Camaro and possible get it out for the M&G!

      Nice!

That will be one way to avoid gas prices, for sure...

What kind of mileage do those things get?

I used to have a 1982 Nighthawk 650 and I was getting around 45 mph.

As much as I absolutely hate the idea of driving a bike, I'd be tempted to buy one too if I could afford to. Such a catch 22... spending so much money on gas, I can't afford to buy anything to save on gas.

I bought this bike as a package deal with two bikes for $800. This one that I just painted was the one that ran but needed paint and a rear tire and the other one was a parts bike that a guy i work with bought. So i basically got it for $600. I couldn't pass it up.

I know what you mean. just today i saw a guy take a spill on his rocket in the middle of I-75 in a construction zone but he was lucky and walked away from it with no injuries. I try to stay away from the highways and just take back roads where ever i go just to be on the save side.

I really want to get a bike, but I saw a guy die about 500 ft from my house last year. He was going so fast that his head got wedged into the crotch of a tree. Was extremly disgusting.
I also saw that at an apartment building I pass by every day, two crotch rockets showed up and have been there for about a week. My guess is someone bought a buddy pack. Went by today and one bike headlight is smashed in. One week old and already in a wreck. That BLOWS. So you can see why I'm kind of scared.

I used to have a CBR 600 and thank god i got rid of that thing when i did. i found myself doing crazy and stupid things on that thing and im glad i got rid of it bc i would have killed myself on it. the crowning blown was when i raced a benz and got it up to 138 mph. That had to be the dumbest thing i have ever done. so i figure get a nice cruiser and just have fun going slower.
