    My 73 TA Rebuild

    Here are some pictures of the progress of my TA that caught fire a couple years ago. Pre fire pictures are shown in my garage.

    These pics are of the car finally getting the body back. It required a complete dash and everything in front of that. It's been a long haul. Hope to bring it to the meet and greet.

      a formula hood with a shaker?? thats different. kinda fights over center-of-attention. looks like a sweet project!

        looking good - but half to admit your Ponch hood is cracking me up (lets see how many people get the reference?)

            wow...nice project. Were finishing up my nephews 72 in a little bit. Just have to drop the 455 in and wetsand and buff the whole car.

              Ponch had a straight TA hood if memory serves.

              This looks like a Super Duty Formula hood...did you actually find one, or make the hole yourself?

                  nope he had the double hood (transam/formula) - always thought it was custom though?

                  it was in an episode called Down Time

                  the car only lasted one episode - he got it at the beginning of the episode it was then stolen by his next door neighbor "Kim" who is part of a multi girl car theft ring specializing in performance vehicles

                  still remember Ponch's line as he was chasing his own vehicle

                        More on the 73

                        I was wondering what kind of reaction there was going to be to the hood. Here's the deal. It ain't easy finding a straight TA hood. I came across this 72 Esprit that had the formula hood on it for a parts car and was going to sell the hood. Well, you see where it ended up. It is a custom hood by me. I am quite sure this was never offered by GM. It is a factory fiberglass hood as far as I can tell. Honestly, we'll just have to see how it looks as a whole package.

                        The 455 motor is already in it with a turbo 400. Both tricked up just a wee bit.
                        It produces around 550 + hp. Comp headers, X pipe, back to the chrome dual turn down tips found on later model Birds. Little larger tire on the rear, 15" Ralley II wheels.

                        Front suspension is stock. It has sub frame extensions. anti roll and traction components along with a 373 rear gear.

                        Here are a couple of pics just before it left my shop to be painted.
