  • 2008 Cobalt SS is looking good!

edit: I see this has been posted all ready, sorry

The Cobalt SS is powered by a 2.0L Ecotec turbocharged and intercooled engine with 260 horsepower. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter while Brembro brakes help bring the car to a halt. The high-performance Cobalt also features a Nürburgring-tuned FE5 Sport suspension.
On the outside the Cobalt SS features unique front and rear fascias and 18" alloy wheels. Inside there are new sport seats and an A-pillar mounted boost gauge.

I wonder if this would be a great daily driver? Gas Mileage? Should be out second quarter of 08. Hmmm

        Nice looking ride!

They need to do what Ford did with a Focus - put a V8 in it and make it RWD.

...I can't say the same about the riced Sunfire I purposely parked next to at school on Friday, though...

I love it. Full fledge Mustang & LT1 killer. I think its pretty crappy that a damn cobalt gets nicer seats that the Corvette. With the new warranty this car is high on my wish list.

I'm going to take one for a test drive when the dealers start getting them. I was told that they may have stage kits available too. A 290 horsepower upgrade from GM.

LT1 killer is kind of optimistic IMO unless youre talking about all the tired & out-of-tune 150k mile ones running around...would kill one of those for sure. But a healthy one...meh. LT1s were underrated at 280 and 330 lbs of tq. I predict a drivers race. I put a length a "stage 2" srt4 neon 0-60, i suspect this would perform about the same - maybe a little better.

I would love to have this car. It was one of my favorite cars at the autoshow, besides all the really expensive ones.
