You wanted to get technical about my taillights so I had to bring up the part about the car being made in Canada. Anyways my lights were made in the US and put on the cars being exported.

all new gm cars (especially the Malibu) are wired like Chrysler's... seems like the more i go through the new gm vehicles (impala, silverado's, etc) are just a mix between Toyota and Chrysler. its sad really, but at least gm is adapting.

The shapes are very similar but how many different tail light combinations can you have over the years before you start repeating, ya know?

Just so I understand here, Wade, you're saying that your taillights are domestic but your Camaro is an import, right?

              Poor confused car...

I go by where the manufacturer is headquartered.

Plus Canada is like the US anyways, but better in some aspects...

Hey man, they have the DOT number certification on them. They're domestic enough to be legal here.

I'm not a big fan of the new malibu.... It doesn't do anything well in the looks department.

Either way.. the Malibu is the best thing to happen to Chevy in a LONG TIME!!!

Also speaking of US cars looking like the competition...

First.. The domestic looking cars are usually bubbly with large body gaps.. the "import" manufactuers came out with nicer interiors and cleaner (yet more boring) body lines. The public LOVED IT for many reasons we wont get into.

Now, the "domestics" are playing catch up and MUST have the same appeal that the "imports" do. But kudo's to Chevy for coming out with a car that addresses the import style requirements and still making it a domestic car!

and a thing we must all remember... most of america would have no problems considering their car an "appliance" that just does a job.. we are all enthusiasts that "know to much for our own good"

I think all the body gaps on that Malibu are less than 1mm thick. Now that is some detail.

The interior - is INCREDIBLE. Very comfortable, attractive and spacious. Sort of a retro-esque dual-cockpit design, and those gauges - they are so cool.

There's a reason it was 2008 North American Car of the Year. The attention to detail is like that unseen in a domestic car of this price range, or even higher ones. Even with the four-banger, it still has some pep to it.

If every car GM brings out is like this - they'll not have any more $38-billion losses any time soon.
