  • My dads 82' Z28

Here are a few shots of my fathers 1982 Z28. What a cool looking car. These shots were taken in early summer 1982 just after he purchased it. He even added the Japanese export lights that I've never seen on any other third gen. My dad said this was the only sporty car he owned that looked faster than it really was.... It had a whole 140 horse power through a questionable 5 speed gear box... A total step down from the 427 '68 vette he had. He said he couldn't keep up with my mom's Cougar.

    Enjoy!

    MMMMMMMMMMM... Grey Vinyl!

Japanese tail lights... Huge turn signal.

Does he still have the car? I'm gonna guess the Tech Center photos were taken at one of our Camaro Street Nationals shows we used to put on at the GM Tech Center. (between 1980 and 1991)

Those tail lights were used on the Z28-E export versions of the Camaro. Very rare here.

Note the different mirrors, headlight covers, different tail lights and no rear spoiler. Also: Z28-E designation on the door.

Nah... He sold the car in '86 after he had my brother to get a station wagon. "A more sensable family car." The tech center pictures were taken where he worked and still works today. No special car show, just another day at work with a camera. He's an engineer at GM.
