Well then get your ass out to the garage next weekend and well take another inch off. We got beer! This applies to anyone who wants to come out and benchrace and tinker with some old tin. Just give me a holler.

I've got a couple SBC blocks, some 700R4s and stuff to use as a mock up. Already got my rear diff, my front suspension and my steering setup.

Ordering the square tube for the frame this week and going to start on that next weekend

Sweet thread! Metal work and welding still intimidate me since I've never done it.

You don't know much about rat rods do you? RUST is a perfectly acceptable color for them! The majority of them still have whatever is left of their original...or subsequent repaints over the years. Some actually use red oxide or flat black primer. If it has real paint on it then it's no longer a rat rod.

Well lets see... Red oxide or flat black primer... thats a color isnt it?.. I was pretty sure red and black are both colors maybe its an exception?.... Weather its a rat od or not a great deal of them have some sort of color besides "Rust".. Weather its flat black, flat gray, that military green sort of deal, flat red. those are all colors i do believe. I'm assuming he would put something to protect it on... Maybe i wrong though... But thats what i was asking is IF he was.. what it would be.
