  • The 1933 Ratrod Pickup Build

Well here's my official ratrod build thread. This time around, I'm going to keep a big bold budget for the world to see. I have an unofficial budget I'd like to stay under, but with some recent decisions I've made (motor wise) I don't see it happening. I'll keep this first post updated as I spend money, so everyone can see what a waste of cash cars really are.

    CURRENT EXPENSE: $1595.70

    1933 Ford Cab - $550
    1932 Ford Cab - $550
Gas to get cabs - $442
    1937 Ford front suspension - $50
    Vega steering box - $0
Vega flat pitman arm - $0
Masking tape for chop - $3.70

Haha - I've spent about $7200 on my car in half a year (including the 3750 it cost initially).

But...it's boring to not have to do anything to a car...

Feel free to send some money my way if you want something to do. Lots to do on my car. New bumper and hood, center console, headers, full exhaust......

That's why I never go by one. You never are under budget. There is always something that nickel and dimes you to death. Like my $1200 355 build turned into $1700 by the time it was in and running.

Oh, I'm not bored...I always have crap that needs to be done with this car...and thus money that needs to be spent - I'm not bored. =P

                          God i love rat rods...

Me and my father argue about them all the time..
He Loooves candy and chrome... But i think theres nothing better then flat black, grille from a tractor, and open headers...

Rat rods i think are the best father son projects you could ever do..Take time together out at junk yards, old junk piles in the woods, going to peoples houses and ask if you an steal parts off there old shitty cars behind the barn.

I love it. you can take parts off of so many cars and make them work amazingly...I really would like to get out and be able to make a good rat rod just don't have the money to.

I think I am between Rat Rods and all the shine...How about an old fashioned what we used to call a sleeper car, unfinished exterior but an awesome drivetrain! Thats what I grew up with doing Woodward and Telegraph.

As long as there driven i dont care what it is..hot rod, rat rod, street rid, sleeper, what ever... If your driving it then its good in my book. I just prefer the rat rod.
