  • Wheel Ideas??

I need some advice I am looking to replace my stock 87 Iroc rims, and dont have a fortune to spend. I have new 16 inch tires so would like to stay with the 16 inch rim. I like the ZR1 syle and I am also looking at the IROC reproduction in chrome. However I have never heard of some of these brands. Does anyone have any knowledge of them are they junk or OK? Any ideas or places to go for rims would be great.

I am also looking at the American Racing "Torq Thruster II" which belle tire quoted $1030...

Those are pretty nice looking wheels, I thought about putting some on my bird but couldnt find any at a decent price, i needed tires more than I did rims, but check out this website too they have some pretty sweet deals on wheels and tires and packages as well, the next set of rims I get will most likely be from these guys...

I'd stay with the stock IROCs. They are my all time favorite factory wheel on a Camaro.

I'm with Wade....can't beat the style for a 16 inch rim. Strip them and polish those suckers up and they look great!

Just metal polish itsn't going to cut it. James had polished his stock wheels so he can give you the info on what he did. Eastwood sells wheel stripping and polishing kits for around $100 or so. It gives you what you need to strip the clear coat and paint off then polish them up.

Yup, stay with the IROC wheels. I always wanted to put a polished set on my Monte Carlo.

I have to agree. Those are some of my favorite wheels. Is the width OK?

8" You can only go with a 255 width max in 16's anyways. They don't make any wider tires. You'd have to go up to a 17" if you want anything wider.

                      Hey Chris,
I found these awhile back for Dennis Michels for his Elcamino.
This guy is located in southern Mi. and is going to be at the Camaro Superfest as a vendor this year.
You can get these wheels in 16"s as well.
Check out my "Garage for some pics. of my Iroc with the 18's
Oh, yeah I bought the wheels that James polished for his car, and they do look pretty nice!

Go with chrome 4th gen T/A wheels. Cheap and look great on 3rd gens.

I agree with the others. Stay with the stock wheel and polish it.
