  • Anyone else has KYB?

Just curious if anyone use KYB shocks and struts other than me. I have heard that they are pretty good. I bought a new set of struts, struts mounts, and rear shocks and installed them back in Feb and have the struts installed in March. My car just developed this awful clunking and I took it to the shop, when they took it apart, the struts mount on the passenger side was completely destroyed and the driver side is not too far behind (the spring popped out and almost hit the guy working on it). I called Summit Racing and they happily honor the lifetime warranty and are overnighting some new ones for replacement. But just makes me wonder how strut mounts can be destroyed so quickly. For those who know how I drive, you know I'm pretty easy on my car. Sucks that I'm without my car until most likely Friday, but props to Summit for taking care of their customers.

hmm i have kyb struts and shocks and have had no problems so far. although I do not have coil overs in the front, maybe the people that installed them didn't tighten down the mount/strut?? Thats always a possibility.

And another thing.....when I gun the motor, I want the whole world to think it's coming to an end.

Yeah, but even if it's abused while it was in service, the strut mounts and struts are only 2 months old, a bit early to be falling apart.

I've had KYB's on my car for about 8 years, no problems.

Ah. Maybe it was just a defective unit.
