  • Wheel hop?

So up to a few days ago I havent had a decent chance to test out the new tires, I was really excited because the dunlop direza's are the first good brand name tire I have had on the car since I owned it. Everything thing else have been tractionless wonders. So I was used to mashing the pedal and the tires spinning, hardly squealing, just a strange hissing noise. Well I Decided it was time to get a feel for the new tires and I jumped on it. Instead of a halfway decent launch, the rear tires started hopping up and down, shaking the crap out of the car and startling the hell outta me. I figure it has to be something IM doing wrong. Any help?

Also the tires were probably pretty cold, about 50 degrees or so

i bet your 10 bolt loves your for that!

on a side note...it's just the benefit of our shitty F-body suspension....

new lower control arms, Torque arm, LCA relocation brackets, some adjustable shocks, and possbily a panhard bar later and you won't have that problem anymore

crap...thats like a grand worth of stuff...Oh well time to get started. First tune, then bodywork, then suspention with maintenance in between. I suppose its a good thing its a never ending cycle because in car games the second Im done modding a car im bored with it.

I do have adjustable shocks from competition engineering on the back though, Ive just never adjusted them, so I have no idea where they are set.

nah, LCAs are only 90 bucks from UMI performance, and lca relo brackets are like another 90...should take care of most of it, you don't need all that stuff to get rid of some wheel hop.

                        12.??

theres a huge difference between 12.9 and 12.1

I just eek in to the 13.1 - 12.9 area on a good day, not bad for a LT1 car with no tune or suspension mods ( other then springs and old adjustable shocks)

Mine? Well as far as internals the bottom end is still stock, I have a LT4 hot-cam kit but Im using a different set of aftermarket springs due to fitment issues. The Heads and intake have been ported and polished, the valves ports enlarged (2.00 intake/ 1.55 exhaust) and the valves replaced with Manley extreme duty valves. The valves were unshrouded and the deck cut just a bit to make up any difference in compression the unshrouding might have caused. I also have a canton 6 quart oil pan, MSD ignition coil and wires with plain ol' AC Delco platnum plugs.

The intake system has a SLP cold air intake, trick flow metal elbow, BBK 58mm X2 throttle body, and the MAF has been de-screened (not by me)

The exhaust has MAC headers, a off-road Y-pipe, and a MAC catback with a Flowmaster 80 series.

Also a SPEC stage three clutch and short throw shifter

The car also has some kind of lowering springs and competition engineering
                              adjustable shocks

I know you only asked about the engine but all those thing contribute in some small way so I spat 'em out
