  • welded wheels?

    anyone ever seen this done and how accurate u think the balance is

    i've seen it done a number of times. Ken from SLP just got his 35th anniversary camaro rear wheels widened to 11"s so he can put some 315's on it...i haven't seen it yet but i hear it looks bad ass!

    i've also seen it many times on LS1tech.
    1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo
    2002 F-250 7.3 Leveled on 20s with 35's
    2006 Yamaha R6 50th Anniversary

        Balance has nothing to do with the welding process. Wheels are dynamically balenced after the fact. I would be more concerned with trueness of the wheel...which shouldn't be an issue as long as they were done correctly.

                    damn, i thought i was the only one with this idea all the sudden... i haven't seen this on ls1tech... I must be in the FI section too much

                    someone find out some more details on where and how much...

                      I had my wheels done last year by Alloy Wheel Repair...I'm pretty sure they can do widening as well, as we discussed cutting a set of turbo wheels out to 15x10 from 15x8 (future project...er, dream...).

                      They did a fantastic job for me...had them stripped, powdercoated, machined, powdercoated clear over the top, and returned to me in 3 days.
