  • Looking for new Chrome Rims...

I need to know some specific information to aide in my shopping quest.

    I have a 4th Gen 1996 Firebird.

What is the Max Backspacing without mods?
What is the Max Rim Width?
What is the Max Tire Size?

    Thanks In Advance.

I take it you want to take it to the MAX.lol, you dont have to mod much but a bump stop or a few hits with with a mallet to fit 17x11 17x13. 17x9.5 17x10 275/40/17 will fit easy all the way around with no mod,any bigger you will have to remove the bump stop.

if you want 18's all around, i would suggest just getting a set of 18x9 or 18x9.5 (same diff) rims for all 4's....like Seans Formula (keegorida)

that way you can rotate them, and they will look nice and even, a 275/35r18 tire would be perfect for all around with a set of 18's and you would need no modification, as well as i don't think you'll need more then a 275 tire for a V6 car

Would an offset of +57 cause any challenges?

I am looking into geting these rims in a 18x9.5 with the +57 offset.

word, those are exactly what i was talking about, those are like Sean's but he has the C6's in chrome rather then the C6 Zo6

a set of those with a 275/35r18 all around would be perfect

yeah they are nice looking rims, Krazy Kevin "mr Bojangles" (who hasn't posted in a while, nor have i seen him in a while??) anyways, he has a set of those on his SS....they look very nice, i've been thinking about offing my black rims and getting a set of those chrome's myself, get the 18x9.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears if i can find 'em...anyways...those look sweet!...they'll look even better with a set of drop springs!

the 1.5" drop eibach pro-kit looks good, and you won't need to modify anything, the reason for "bashing in your wheel wells" is if you're running more then 58mm backspacing i believe....like i said, that's the same setup/sizes as Sean has on his formula and he's lowered with the eibachs with no problems....

even if you have to beat in your fender wells some, it's not a big deal, i'm not too sure why so many people freak out about it, you can't see it with the wheels on, and if you get some rubber undercoating to cover it back up, you'll never know...

this is a picture of seans car, he has that same size rim as you specified (only the C6's) with his car lowered about 1.5" with the pro-kit no problems at all

haha whoring my car!!! yea that setup is nice, 275/35/18's with the drop kit, they only thing i have had a problem with is the y pipe with the long tubes, they can be a clearance issue in some cases. Such as steep roads or railroad tracks etc.

word, but as far as the rims fitting, that would not be a problem, and i'm not sure if they even make long tubes for V6's??? so i don't think that could ever be a problem
