  • Tire recommendations?

I am looking to buy 4 new tires this Spring for my car. I had previously been running Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s but I want to move away from a set of tires that are $300/piece.

Does anyone have a tire they use that they are in love with that aren't too expensive? I will be driving in rain occasionally as the car is my DD but these will only be used in the Spring/Summer months so I don't need an all-season tire.

    Looking for 275 tires

Riken Raptors ZR are what I'm going with. Discount has 245/45/17 at $74 a piece. I'm going to go with 275s in the back too.

I had those and liked them also. Now I have Nitto nt05s with drag radials on the back. Like them so far, but haven't had much time with them.

I just ordered a full set of sumitomos. Probably not the best tire but they were cheap ($86ea)! Tires don't last long for me anyways lol

A lot of the cheap autocrossers will use Federal 595 RS-R tires. Only 140TW but they offer a lot of grip and only cost ~$150 for a 285/30/18

For you guys recommending the Riken Raptors, what do you like/dislike about them?

I've run BFG KDW's the last 2 times I replaced tires on my car. I used to DD it rain or shine and never had an issue with them. Hell I drove through the remains of a hurricaine that hit Ohio on my way back to MI from NY one trip. Never slid or lost traction in rediculously heavy rains. And on the dry roads they seem to grip well too. I can have a lot of fun with them and as long as I am pointed straight when the turbo's spool, they usually grip & rip.

That's what I'm running too and have been happy with them, they weren't cheap though. However, just looking at tirerack and discount tire and I don't even see them anymore... Did they stop making them?

I believe they discontinued them. Tire rack has like four sizes, and they're all closeout.
