Need new street tires

I'm looking at the Nitto NTO5 as a good street tire that could hopefully cut a 2.0 sec 60'? Anything better out there that won't wear super quick?

Need it in a 295/35/18 or 305/35/18 size

Well are you looking for a straight-line tire, or something that handles well too?

Best summer tire out there right now is the Dunlop Z2, followed closely by the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. The PSSs will have longer life, but cost more and have less longitudinal grip, and get a bit "greasy" when they get hot. The Z2 will wear faster, but grips like glue, even when hot. Definitely getting those when I get my wheels.

If you're looking for a good short time gotta go with M/T drag radials. If you don't constantly do smoky but outs they will last quite a while on the street. Now as for driving in the rain... You're on your own there, never attempted that

Yeah it will see rain, it's inevitable when going on a car tour. Mostly interested in straight line grip

IMHO all street tires are damn close to the same as far as straight line grip go. The sidewall is just to hard.

True. Think I'd be able to cut a 2.0? I've been consistent 2.2 on my Goodyear Eagle Supercars

i went 1.9 with the stock f1's
old school nitto dr's I had lasted forever and went 1.6 and were ok when i got stuck in the rain on the power tour

Nitto DR work well in the rain and wear good - I've been high 1.6's on them with a clutch

You'll get 8-10k out of them if you aren't doing smokeshow burnouts and they handle well.

I don't know how they handle drag racing but these are by far the best cheap tires out there. Mine are wearing quite well and have performed great. Perfect tire for summer driving.

I second the eagle f1's had them on my lightning and had pretty good grip to handle that torque.

That's what I have now and they're pretty slippery on the track. Decent on the street, but really need a drag radial.

Those Nexens are great tires for the price. Installed them on many cars, and heard nothing but great things about them.
