315/30/17 or 275/40/17

I have 275/40/17s on all for corners I was thinking of changing the rears to 315/30/17s.... I was wondering was there any advantages or disadvantages to doing this? If not is there anything I need to do or will there just bolt right up?

I would ask about the intended use of the vehicle. 315 will grab cracks and grooves in the road. I would suggest 275s on all four corners for a driver. For an autocross or race car 315 on all four corners is sick. My 3rd gen will be set up for use on the track but I will use 275 on all four corners with a 9.5 wheel.

I agree with 275's for a car that gets driven on the street.

Putting 315's on the front for a daily/cruiser not a good idea, tires will follow groves in the road and pull car all over. However if you are only going to track race its great. Even 275's on front do this, I have 275's and on black top roads they pull you all over, cement roads not so bad.

wider back tires alter the handling balance as well, the car was/is set-up for same size front to rear unless you change components.

If you are only doing it for looks, then go for it. I love the look of 315's on the back of these cars.
