• QA1 Coilovers on a 4th gen

I had a spur of the momement buy on a set of QA1 coilover for front and rear... just wondering if anyone has had experiance with them? is the ride and handing good? They have 300lb springs and are single adjustable. How do the coilovers hold up in the rear compaired to a standard shock with spring can they handle hard launches, How do they mount to the rear are any brackets needed.

I thought QA1 coilovers were the bees knees for suspension. I'm pretty sure OIF1VET has experience with them.

Depends on the model for the front's - the F's are more street/strip/autox and the R's are more strip/street

The rears probably aren't coil overs. they are just direct bolt-ins.

They ride and handle good - but you'll have to play with them to get them how you want them

Yep, like Jeremy said above.. My fronts were F series, but I sent them in and had them converted to R series.. I run a 315 Lb spring up front. My rears are not coilover, but are QA1's. These shocks have been on my car close to 10 years now and still work fine for me.. As a starting point, I have my fronts set at 4, rears are set at 3. Adjust to your liking.. If you have a 9" in your car, you will need this:http://midwestchassis.com/shocks--mounts.html These will come in handy too for adjusting: http://www.qa1.net/qa1_motorsports/d...-wrenches.html

Even with the stock rearend I'd suggest the traverse shock mounts - keeps them from binding

There a Gs502 model.. so I'm assuming street or strip. I'm putting a 12 bolt in the car this winter. The guy I got the coil covers from said I need a special mount to weld to the existing shock mount..he said he got them before there qa1 were a dirrect bolt in. Well sound like I got a pretty good deal four coil over for 350 bucks. I was thing about selling the rears and getting a set of qa1 shock and springs. Rather then messing with the rear coilovers.

Wow - most people don't put true coilovers in the rear of these cars.

They'll take some work but in the end it'll probably be worth the effort.

madman or MWC should be able to get you the parts, I have thought about converting my rear to coilovers in the future for adjustability.

My best, to date, is 1.5 60' on the qa1's. they will get down there if you set up the car.

Jeffery went 1.45 with stock decarbons. You don't need fancy shocks to go fast
