Stained chrome?

I was told to use windex or water when scrubbing with the steel wool? Kind of like how you clay bar, you need to keep it lubricated?

get 'em clean yet? i was going to suggest some good chrome polish

Yes I got them cleaned. Took them off for the most part, there is one area on 1 rim I will try and go back over. All other areas came right off
