Stained chrome?

When I washed Camaro other day, noticed the chrome 5 spokes are stained. Two of this. Look like this.

How would I go about removing this, or are they f'ed?

Mine are like this also... I would guess some kind of oxidation, not really sure, i'm interested in knowing this myself. They had some of this stuff on them when i bought the car. i've nerver been able to remove it with cleaner, but i've also never really used any polish on them either.

try a good chrome polish (not chrome cleaner) and see if it helps.

First try some NeverDull

If that doesn't do it, get some 000 or 0000 steel wool and go to town.

Which steel wool should I start with? Never used it before. Do I just rub it like sandpaper

Dont use steel wool on chrome...."never dull" should be renamed "never works". Elbow grease and like Don said, try a good chrome polish.

Im a neverdull fan although it will dull with times. Works great on my exhaust tips.

Last time I used neverdul I had bad results. I have some autosol polish in the basement somewhere I believe. Used that back when I had chrome wheels..wonder if that would work.

0000 steel wool is great for cleaning chrome, i use it all the time.

Triple or quad zero steel wool is perfectly fine for chrome. Brent is clueless

That's what I get for knee jerk responses without reading all the posts.....I would concur that the extra fine stuff is fine. For me though add some chrome polish with the wool for the hell of it
