4th gen upper shock mount - best brand?

So, ends up that my OE mounts are totally shot.

I've read something bad about every mount on LS1tech. Just curious what your experiences have been, especially recently.

Rockauto has:

Delcos - $80 each
Moog: $45 each

They also have the Monroe/Raybestos/KYB brands as well.

I am kind of leaning towards the Moogs - anyone use them, and if so, any issues with fitment?

I have had moogs on my car since I got it in October 2008, fitment was fine, they seem to do their job well.

I usually go with Moog unless I'm buying off Summit. They're cheap brand (price wise) but I haven't had a problem with their products.

Cool, looks like I'll go Moog. Is cost much less then $45 a side? Was gonna order off RockAuto tonight in the hopes they'll be here in the next few days. Really want to make good progress on getting it ready for the season this week

Jesus, I should of waited my dumb *** bought them without my buddys at cost and it was like 90 a side! Damn it!
If you can get them for 45 a side, get them, unless you don't feel like waiting for a few days till my buddy can find out what he can get them at.

I have KYBs... Just checked the price and holy crap i dont remember paying $130 for the set!!! Seems like the price went up imensely.

Moog makes good stuff, ut may even be better than the delco part in this case

Sweet, I'll go with the RockAuto Moogs. Can get the mounts and the shock isolators for both sides for $110 shipped. Not too shabby.

I read people *****ing about the Moogs, but they also *****ed about the Delcos too. I'll take the gamble, I am sure I can "engineer" them to fit if I need to

I had no fitment issues with the MOOG for the strut mounts.
I just did them a couple weeks ago.

Ordered - $106.23 shipped for Moog shock mounts and isolators (bearing plate, whatever it's called) for both sides.

Looks like this is what Im about to be doing as well Oh well. And Joel, the KYB's I looked at on autozone and advance were about 130.00 per side! Unbelievably expensive! But I actually just found a guy on ebay selling both sides with upper control arms still attached, spotless/rust free for 45.00 total. Thinkin' Im going to do that instead. That seems like a major steal to me.

I got the strut bearings/isolators/whatever you call them for $10/pair (Moog also).

Ended up $110 shipped for new mounts and isolators. Not too bad of a deal IMO.

Yeah, I ordered them and already received them. Mine were 107.00 shipped.. without the rubber isolator thingys. 45 for the left and 55 for the right plus 8ish for shipping. I ordered moogs also. shouldn't have been a price difference though for you and me. But there was definitely a 10.00 difference between left and right sides. You didn't by chance order two of the same side did you??
Also: were you going to re-use the old coil ring(lower spring mount) that the spring sits on? I was told you should swap those over too but again I can't get to them to remove them.

Wow, weird - mine have different P/N's and should be left and right:

They were definitely $45 a side, plus approx $5 a side for the isolators, about $10 shipping, and a 5% coupon code netted me $106 shipped. What's weirder is mine are shipping from CA and aren't scheduled to be delivered until Fri.

Anyway, yes, I do plan on re-using the lower spring "seat" (whatever the plastic piece is called that the spring actually sits on) as well as the lower perch (metal piece). I tapped the perch off with a hammer, didn't take much force. In case you didn't know, there's a brass looking ring at the top of the orange shock housing - that has to come off in order to get the metal perch off. Again, just tap it off, doesn't take much force. Apparently, it's there so the bumpstop has a flat surface to contact.
