So, diassembled the driver side again to inspect and everything is OK. Reassembled. Removed the coilover assembly from the passenger side and trim the threaded portion of the shock to make sure I don't repeat my mistake...

Got a late start so I just finished up. Won't be able to drive it until tomorrow, but here's how she looks right now. Just over 1.5" of gap:





So, let hope it doesn't settle much - I don't think it will, and let's hope it still rides great. I am happy with this height, let's hope I am happy with the ride!

And, then we get to start on the rear end! That should be MUCH quicker though!

I kind of like the stance as it is now - looks like you have a nice rake going on.

I think I would like to lower the rear a little, but I want to keep some rake.

We'll also see how she sits once I take her for a shakedown run tonight. Should settle a little more.

So, went for a nice cruise for a "shakedown" test. Feels great, looks great. I am VERY pleased!

Gotta work on the rear end - probably take 1/2 a coil or so out, and get the Bilsteins in there. Also want to get the SFC's bolted up.

My wife, who never notices a difference when I do this kind of stuff was impressed with the way it rode - "It's so much better than before! It's just....smooth." She also commented on how nice it looks lowered.

It's firm still - after all, it's an Fbody - but it's much smoother than OE height with 70k mile decarbons. I have about 1-3/8" wheel gap in the front. It's about 1-3/8" driver, 1-1/4" passenger. I can deal with 1/8" of variance!

And, I may try the HH mod in the rear. Would give me a preview of how it'd look, make sure I don't lower it too much with cutting

Driver side always sits higher so that when you (the driver) sit in the car that it theoretically levels out.

I can throw a few up, but quite honestly they are crap.

I am sitting at about 26.25" to the front fender (about 1.375" wheel gap). That was 1.5 coils cut.

I am still about 27.5" to the rear fender, I think about 2.5" of wheel gap. That's really no different from where it sat before I messed with it. I cut 1 coil, but that's kind of a flat "dead" coil. think I'll chop out another 1/2 and it should sit the way I want.

I'll get the rear dialed in and then I'll get some actual GOOD pics of how she sits.


I will be kind of distracted as I picked up a date for the week, and she's wearing this for jewelry:

So, I am unsure of what I think about the ride. I am all out of whack jumping between the Corvette and the SS. It's firm - but I can't really tell how much firmer than stock. It's definitely smoother than with the DeCarbons. I tightened the front SFC bolts to 90 ft-lbs, but am still getting a clunk. It kind of sounds like it may be the rear LCA bolts - I'll torque those a little more tomorrow.

I'll have to get out to Woodward or meet up with some of you - Kevin/Joel? - locally for a ride to experience the difference between the setups.

Hopefully these pics help - not the best, but may give an idea. I think the stance is great - the front is almost too low. Hopefully it doesn't settle anymore.
