  • Anyone have Stock Rims they wanna get rid of?

    I currently have 17" rims.
I need to drop down to 15" or 16" rims for slicks.
Apparently you can run a 11.5 slick on the stock 16" rims.

I am looking for a set of 4. As it would be strange to have 2 17s and 2 16s.

You also should run tubes with there tires correct?

Also I thought I read you don't want to run bias-ply with radials. So what would you run up front if you are running a bias outback?

I guess I could run the 17 up front and salads in the back. I'm a poor kid rims are expensive haha.

        The 275/40/17 is a 25.66".
        The 28/11.5/16 is a 27.19".

So least the rake will be correct haha.

They do make a 17" ET Street but I think the diameter is 26".

Yeah, I plan on running 4.10s and possibly spray. So it was recommended to run a 28" tire.

I was told you should run bias ply on a manual.

So what you are saying is the money I gave you, I should give back to you for the salads and for the pillar pod? Haha.

Maybe I'll shoot down there this weekend and pick the rims up and drop off the pillar.

What tube would I need to run with a 28/11.5/16?

                  Would it be these?

                  For these tires
                  http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-3796

It says they are 8.7" tread width. The tube is for 8-10.5" tread width.

I have had a lot of people say since you are constantly checking/filling/letting air out between runs not to worry about tubes.
I ordered my MT ETs the other day, got some rim screws aswell.
Will stay tuned to see what the opinion on tubes is

Do you plan driving on the street with them?

                      Plan on mounting them yourself?
What size screws did you get?

                      EDIT:

                      Summit only carries .750" screws.
Some thread I read said to make sure they will work, he just screwed his in and it went through the bead.

No, track use only. If I need better traction on the street I'll use my DRs.
I will have my dad mount them for me.
Mickey Thompson reconmended those #14 x 3/4 screws for a salad shooter, so they'll be fine.

they can be run without tubes, but if you run low pressures in them, tubes would be a wise choice.
