UMI. I have their 3 point SFC's and they tuck so tight you can't even see them unless you get on the ground an look. The Y pipe is still the lowest point under the car. I have their STB as well. STB probably didn't do much but the car doesn't twist going over rough pavement and rail road tracks like it used to. I got the bolt in ones but need to get them welded since they squeak in the rear and it drives me nuts. They fit over the front LCA mount and sandwich it in. The 3rd point bolts to where the stock tunnel brace goes. I plan on doing the rest of my suspension with UMI when I get money to do so.

yep I plan to get all UMI stuff when I do it. I've heard great things. While I plan to get weld in SFC's, its not because bolt-ons are just for looks, that would be rediculous to buy or sell them for looks, they're under the car. They do work. Just that the weld-ins are stronger once they are welded.

LOL, been there. My dad has an old Arc welder that I use when I have to weld something, but a Mig would be sooooo much better. Believe it or not, my dad used to own and run a fab shop until his health got so bad he couldn't do it anymore. I grew up around and worked doing fab work and welding for many years. I miss welding, I enjoy it too. But, to be honest, I haven't welded much at all the last 6-8 years and it would take some practice to get good again, so I'll just let you do it James!!Originally posted by WMCCjamesThat's cool....I enjoy welding. Under the car kinda sucks because you always get hot sparks in strange places.....8-O

bolt in is almost useless, the bolt holes will flex so it's barely better than none, get them welded. Most people just make their own connectors it's pretty easyOriginally posted by GETGONEUMI. because your engine isn't structure, the subframe connectors job is to stop your body from twisting so your making a lever (the connector) working on that bolt. If your car has t tops you can measure the twist even with bolt in ones (one guy on nastyz28 built a 4th gen to race with and had 2 inches difference after a race with the umi bolt in connectors, after building a set had less than a half inch) bolts stretch pretty easyOriginally posted by GETGONEMy reply to this argument..if bolt in was so bad why is your engine and suspension and most of the parts on the car bolted on?!?!

So, first they were for looks, then they are barely better than none because the bolt holes will stretch, and now the bolts stretch? Just making sure I follow this.Originally posted by archemedesbecause your engine isn't structure, the subframe connectors job is to stop your body from twisting so your making a lever (the connector) working on that bolt. 2 inches difference in what? if that's the case he made more power than any SFC's are going to hold and should have a full cage to stiffen the car anyway. So right there he was playing with fire.
I mean my god, 90% of the car is bolted together. Plus, the holes that you are talking about are not in 0.030" thick sheet metal, the subframing that you bolt the SFC's to is much thicker. Yes, welded are better, because it makes them more rigid to the frame, but bolt ons work well too.
