  • hotchkis vs edelbrock

I figured that before i got to ridiculous with the power in my vehicle, i should add a little reinforcement first. I am going to get some subframe connectors and a strut tower brace and am thinking about going with either hotchkis or edelbrock. there isnt a huge difference in price, im just wondering if anybody has had experience with the two so that i can make a better decision with my purchase. thanks

You don't need the strut tower brace, its a waste of money, from what I've read it doesn't help enough to justify it. Guys, correct me if I'm wrong.

Just my opinion, but I've never been a fan of Edelbrock, to many eggs in to many baskets to make everything good. I would go with Hotchkis, they are a suspension component company and to me that gives them more credibility. Just my opinion though.

i'm looking either spohn or UMI...

Strut tower brace is not NEEDED, a few years back, the fastest auto-crosser in a camaro actually removed it, said it wasn't worth the weight it added lol. While it does look perty, don't believe it adds a ton of anything, esp if you just get a 2 point. The 3 pts will add some stiffness.

I plan to buy all UMI parts when I do it, very impressed with their stuff.

I have no idea who makes Edelbrock's stuff, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I learned a long time ago that if you want to make real power, don't run Edelbrock. While I think they do make some decent quality stuff for the average joe, you don't hear about any fast or really cool cars running Edelbrock.
