Tire size recomendations for '79ta w/ rally 2 rims-

Wondering what is the widest tire one of these rims will take on a trans am body w/ rally 2 rims. I am thinking a 255/60/15 should fit, for the rears but was unsure. Can it hold a wider tire, or is 255 pushing it?
