        Hm, wtf happend there....

        Edited.

Thoughts on replacing master even though there is a leak? Everywhere I checked had to order one, I would hate to get this whole thing back together and wait on parts for a week. If im going to replace it, I want to get it ordered.

Sorry for the hijack, but if this is happening, does the booster need to be fixed/replaced as well, or does all of the fluid stay external to the booster? Mine is leaking here and I don't know if I need to do anything with the booster too.

I would guess it is a booster issue, check for vacuum leaks to it. I had the same issue with the red v6 I had for a little while, and replacing all of the pads/rotors, a caliper, and the master did very little.

It seems like I have lots of assist though, because its so easy to push the pedal to the floor. Unless I dont understand how all this works (which is very possible), isnt there a pysical connection between the pedal and the booster, then the booster and the MC. I figured you pushed on the back of the booster which pushed in the back of the MC, or is there something that can go wrong in all of that?

Spencer from what you said it sounds like 1.the master is bad and allowing fluid to pass by the plunger and thus decreases the braking power. 2. The leak is from one of you calipers. So you have 2 problems first I would fix the leak bleed real good, then if petal still spongy I would replace master cylinder.

Replace the masters and fix the leak. They are cheap

Im pissed those Brand new vette calipers are leaking somewhere. I just came from my parents and my grandmas rounding up a bunch of my tools. Gonna wire up the air compressor and do work!

loose bleeder or the banjo bolt? did you use new washers?

Well, I THOUGHT I found the problem... I had 2 washers between the hose and caliper, I must have not seen the old one when I installed the vette calipers so I threw another one on. Replaced that, stomped on the pedal a few times (no change in feel) got out, and seen the caliper dripping on the floor.....

Pissed, I looked around the bleeder screw and banjo bolt/line and found it to be dry.... Pulled the top caliper bolt and swung it out to find this......

Looks like the square seal probably gave out and fluid started leaking past it? I am IRATE. I just bought these calipers last year, they have no more than 3,000 miles on them.

Those don't even look like Corvette calipers...

Hope you get it figured out!

You are correct, basically. Vette and ls1 fbody calipers are VERY similar. Fbody calipers actually have more clamping force and have larger pistons, however they are just cast in the normal fashion, and under extreme conditions can spread. Vette calipers look the same externally but have smaller pistons and are pressure cast to reduce spreading. GM dealer calipers have "corvette" on the face, but replacements do not.

Mine are in fact ls1 fbody calipers, but my old ones were in sad shape so I replaced them when I went to the vette setup.

Yeah the two are interchangeable, the abutment brackets are different. OEM Vette calipers are cast using a different and stronger process IIRC, and have finned tops. Probably preaching to the choir

I want to step up to a 14" GXP rotor if possible...
