The plan is early April to order my wheels and tires. Already have the money for them just waiting a closer date.

The plan is to run

on all four corners with

275/40/17 FRONT
285/40/17 REAR

Tires are NT555- Getting a decent deal on the tires. Outter diameter of the 275's for the tires are 25.55 ...285's are 25.95

I shouldnt have any rubbing anywhere should I?



When I went to put on my eagle alloys on the black camaro they rubbed like hell on every turn so I was assuming must of been the backspacing? They were 18's also...

My 077's Eagles have +38mm backspacing, stock was +55mm if I remember right. They came off a 98 Firebird though, and didn't have any problems.

Those OEWheels should fit fine.

Could be close in the rear. Lot of guys have to hammer for 295's. Nothing major tho.

Seeing as thats the stock size for SS and WS6 cars I would think you wouldn't have a problem with the front

Ok, the car was in a minor accident, Rear ended a car or something similar. (seen it on carfax) so was just curious.

I stongly recommend running 275 40s on all four corners so you can rotate them.

Are those measurements from Nitto because
275 40 17s should be 25.7
and 285 40 17s should be 25.9

.2" is not enough that you will notice a rack or nor will you notice the 10mm extra of width.

BTW nittos run narrow so you won't have a rubbing issue in back with a right offset.

Yea. I pulled them from work and printed out a order sheet for me with details on all the tires. Those measurements should be right since its on my facts sheet.

Yea I wouldnt mind doing 275's all the way around. Just was tinkering the idea of 285 in the rear

275's would be a little bit cheaper. $637 out the door for 4 with balancing,road hazard yada yada

275/285's would be $671.34 with same options (my math should be right after discounts and what not.. hopefully did most of it on the fly so wouldnt be surprised if I am off about $20)

Gotcha, I know there is some play in the diameters from one brand to the next, thats why I asked. IMO it not worth it for 10mm difference, 20mm would be more acceptable.
I would rather have the optiont to rotate them so you can regulate when you have to buy new tires and buy all four at once.
I have those tires on my chevelle I went with 255 45 17s and 285 40 17s.

I paid $600 for all four 10 months ago. But I wish I would have went with a difference brand or a 315 tire because the 285s look narrow in my wheel wells.

you'll probably need to clearance the rears for the 285's.... I had to a bit for my 295/35/18s on Strano Springs. Personally, I wouldn't go anything less than a 285 on a 10.5" wide wheel. The tire is going to looks stretched and won't yield the aggressive offset look that I'm sure you're aiming for. Also, I think you might have more tire options in the 295 size. Tires aren't that expensive, gotta pay to play

They get expensive when you go through a few pairs, if you have enough power to turn them pretty much whenever
