  • ZR1 wheel questions

Looking to buy a set of ZR1's and have them powdercoated white. Don't know much about powdercoating, should I look for a set of polished wheels or painted ones? Some that I see for sale are already powdercoated could they be redone in a different color?

What does it cost to get a set of wheels done? Looking for 17x8 and 17x11.

Will probably sell my Torque Thrust II's or may consider some kind of trade

Have you ever had white wheels? Gotta say, would never recommend it, even though its totally awesome looking.

Ive been rocking the white 10 spokes for about 2 years now, and I can honestly say I drive my car less because of them... If I drive to work and back, (and not in a spirited manner either) they need to be completely cleaned inside and out. They look terrible.

I bought my 10 spokes painted, the powder coating place blasted and coated them for me. I got out the door for around $300 IIRC. I would say get painted one VS polished. Powder coating is tough shit, IDK about getting a set thats already powder coated and doing them a different color. I would call a PC shop and ask them.

What sizes are your TTII'S? What finish, I may be interested.

My car came with white wheels. I am looking to get wider wheels mine were 16x8. Cleaning not a big deal car gets driven about 2000 miles a year. My tt's are 17x8 or 9 don't remember and 17x11 looking for same size zr1. And my tt are polished

Talked to a powder coating place today, buy polished or painted wheels. He said stay away from chrome or wheels that are already powder coated. So I guess I know what I need to get. Don't have any idea what mine are worth?

Since you race your car, try to find OEM A-molds for a Grand Sport (high offset) Corvette. The OEMs are much lighter than the eBay reproductions.

Just get some OE Wheels and have them powdercoated after taking them to weldcraft for width mods.

Do you have a budget for this project?

I can get the size I need from OEWHEELS for about $590. Powder coat about $300. Should be able to offset cost by selling my Polished TT II's

I did 2 sets this year 1 set was 17-9 2 black 2 silver had them coated white to stay with the 30th style look. The other set was from oe wheels 4x 17-9.5 silver coated white still in boxes haven't used them yet. Had them coated as qc coating off 23 mile rd. they will do a good job tell them Pete with the white wheels sent you. Still have 8 wheels 16-8 with tires for sale, still have 4 new 16-8 in boxes put away if I ever sell the car and the new owner wants to put it back to stock size ragtops came with 16-8.
