  • Drag Bar?

Think it is time car won't leave straight and spins. Was looking at the UMI setup it will fit my S60. What are you guys running and did you see any difference?

    Car has sub frame connectors
    control arms
    torque arm
    pan hard bar
control arm relocation brackets torque arm relocation bracket
full umi front with k member
stange 10 position shocks in rear and QA1 18 position in front
MT Et streets have tried 16 and 18 psi still won't hook

My car is not lowered I have the control arms in the lowest setting in relocation brackets should I try them up one hole?

do you have any pics of how the car is leaving? If its severely rolling and only lifting one side which almost every f body does then you should see benefit from a drag bar, especially if you put more power to the car down the road. That being said your car will certainly be able to run just fine without it especially with adjustable shocks like you have, personally I would call someone like madman I believe he charges a small fee for his advice if you haven't purchased anything from his shop but it would be worth its weight in gold and I guarantee he would have that car hooking with a few quick phone calls and some adjusting on your end. Larry knows a few of his tricks I believe. Hooking a car of your caliber is cake compared to a single digit car and he does this stuff day in and out.

Here's what a drag bar did for my launches.... I run a Spohn drag bar.. I think not being lowered, you should be up one on your LCA relocation bracket.. Pretty sure most lowered cars use the bottom hole.. But I'm not an expert, just know what worked on my car..

the LCA should be going a little bit down hill(2-4degrees) from the body to axle at curb height. some cars can get away with being level.
what are your shocks set at? long or short TA? any vid of it leaving?
        what trans?

I have the control arms in lowest hole, just put these on and I think my traction problem worse! Gonna move them up a notch. Shock settings I used to hook at 8 in rear and 2 in front. That doesn't work anymore, car has 3600 stall and 4l60 trans. Long torque arm

was the car at curb when the LCA was tightened? urenthane bushings arent as bad but anything with a rubber bushing HAS to be tightened at ride height or it will be be preloaded. urethane should be ok because they are not bonded to the metal sleave but...
if the arm is too low(too much antisquat) the car will hit the tire and bounce it(nocooler has a great vid of this)
its hard to say without any vid

I tightened control arms on the ground. This is a video of car cold at stanton and it did hook but once it warmed up it was done. Since then I have added the control arm brackets and raised the front end back to stock height

Think I will try the Drag bar. Shock settings didn't seem to matter just went from spinning to wheel hop! Should I try a softer setting in rear. Yesterday I was running 9 in rear and 1 in front. Tried leaving from an idle and second run braked it to about 1800 it spun worse went sideways

A couple pictures spinning at Stanton won't transfer weight just spins off line

I have QA1's out back, I set mine at around 4-5, fronts 2.. Maybe it's too stiff out back???

Maybe it is I tried going to about 6 and instead of spinning I got some pretty violent wheel hop maybe I should have went lower?

Gonna raise control arms get drag bar and play with shocks some more. Was thinking about adding more power this winter but I got to get this to hook first

Assuming you have full length TA? My wheel hop never went away until I switched to a chassis mount TA...

not the problem at all, high hp LS cars always use a full length.

I was just saying with my car, full length was not optimal.. When I changed to a chassis mount that is when my wheel hop finally went away..

Jim - if I can get my rearend back together this week I'm shooting Sunday at the motorplex. I can get some video of you and slow it down so we can see what it's doing.

Drag bar will help - but mostly if the car is twisting.

What diff is in the car?
