  • Bored, opinions..

Have always loved the drag look.. My car is done completely for strait line, suspension, gears, etc. I have a set of drag rims in mind that will look killer. Thinking of narrowing the rear 2"(getting a 9", I hope) and running a nice deep dish 15x10 out back... 15x4 up front. That also means I will have my budniks for sale, CF driveshaft, 275/50/15 ET street radials and rearend with 3:73's.

full time drag looks is gay.....mullet's only need to apply.

how many times are you going to be rollin through 'skegon with an opportunity to "hang the fronts"? drag on the street is "poser-esc". whether it runs or not. maybe its because WAAAAAAAAAAY to many tools out there run a drag set-up that barely run 12s. to that effect, you're guilty by association.

as long as we're talkin mullet racing, street trim is equal to the party, drag represents the business. its a good lookin car larry, keep the street trim.

Do a "drag" setup with 17" skinnies/10-11" wide rears and 27-28" drag radials. Or do like a 17x6-7 up front and run a ~225 width tire. That's my plan anyway to keep it a nice balance between street and drag.

I personally like the drag look too so long as it's done right, ie. narrowed rear end/possible mini-tub and proper stance so the rears tuck in like a factory wheel/tire would (not tooo far in though).

If you narrow it by 2", be a man and run a 12" wide wheel

Your car would look sick with the same wheel setup Sean has. The only drag setup I approve of

Then again he would have an 800rwhp car that only runs in the 12's. But hey its all about the bling blang!

In the end, I'll probably nurse this rear for another year... Not in the mood to drop any more money right now, but it's nice to dream.. Unless I hit the lotto..

Why would you have to narrow rear to fit a 15x10 rim? Thats what I run at track and it tucks in wheel well very nice.

He talking about getting the "deep dish" look. I think 4th gens look odd with the narrowed rear and deep dish wheels in the back, partially because you can't run a deep dish in the front to match. So you end up with a semi-flush wheel on the front and a deep dish in the rear.

From a standpoint of looks...I prefer wide street tires/wheels over the drag look...but that's just me....I dig supercars that can run 10's in street trim and do 198mph on an open road coarse while turning killer times on an autoX coarse.

I'd say, sell all your wheels/tires and get some killer 3 piece forged wheels....it's what all the cool people are doing

I've never been a huge fan of the Budniks and the summit stars everyone seems to have so I'd say go with something else regardless.

your right my car cant pull the drag look off.. just another slow mullet mobile.... when do you wanna line them up again??? o wait yours wont be on the road for another year yet...

personally if you really are thinking about it.. i would agree with james ont he narrowing it part.. it will look a tad weird with no dish in the front and dish on the back.. can it be pulled off.. absolutely. but i think your best bet would be to only narrow it an inch on both sides so its just a little bit extra and not to much. but if your going to to do it sell all the wheels but keep the tires since u can re use them.
