  • Rear LCA's made HUGE difference!!

I cannot believe the difference aftermarket LCA's make on an Fbody! My car's ass used to sort of sway back and forth when slamming the gears and accelerating hard, almost to the point where I felt i was gonna lose it. From a hole shot, it would wheel hop so bad I'm surprised it never broke an axle. Figured I'd start with some LCA's from lakewood and go from there. Bought the square tubing pair in shiny black, and holy sh** what a difference it made. I banged the gears up to 120ish and it never once gets squirrely now. Drives straight and tight with no sway in the ass end. The tires have yet to hop and i've been burning the hell out of the tires these last few days. This is seriously one of the best mods I've done by far. Those poly bushings are great, I can't belive I didn't do this years ago. For those of you with F-bodies who have not upgraded your rear lower control arms... DO IT!

I put the Spohn del-sphere LCA's on my car Friday before the M&G. No more wheel hop on a hard launch but man are they noisey. I might get some poly bushing for the body side mount.

see i had heard they would cause a way louder ride, but I never heard a difference. my car rumbles pretty loud though anyway, so that's probably why i cant tell. If it weren't for that exhaust, I'd probably hear it too, lol. and for mcalus, I think those LS1 platforms have a better setup. I know the lca's are pretty much the same, but they have the thicker sway bars and what not, so the ride quality is surely better right outta the gate. you probably wouldn't have as much notice as a pre-98 car would. Just my opinion.

LCA's did nothing for me either.. New Torque arm fixed my wheel hop.. Glad to hear they worked for you, much cheaper!

i think new lcas will fix my sway at high speeds. anything above 120 and my ass starts swaying. not that im up that high very often though

I'm going to try adding shims on the body side mount to see if that stops the noise; I'm pretty sure the joint is moving around in the mount pocket. I have big Hotchkis sway bars installed and I put Dynamat (Eastwood variety) over the rear hump and in the trunk area in an attempt to attenuate the noise - neither piece worked.

I've only had them on for 3 days - I'll figure them out with more seat time.
