  • which brand of tires...

Hey guys, just a question for you tire and wheel guys....I'll be getting my rims pretty soon. 17x9.5 fronts and 17x11 rears...I was just curious on some input for tires, since i have the slightest clue about tires. I'm looking more towards tires that hook well on the street's but wanting to use them on the strip a atleast couple times. Also, since it is my DD for now, anyone have some experience on driving when its raining, since weather in this state is unpredictable. The only time i drive my car in the rain is to work and back...about 4 miles, by the way. I use one of my parent's cars to go places while raining..i HATE rain! lol Thanks guys.

You don't have many brand choices when running 315's out back. BFG KD's or KDW's are good. Michelens are nice but expensive. I'm not sure if the new Goodyear G3DS come in 315's. You can buy cheap ass Sumitomo's but they're cheap for a reason..they suck and are way narrower than any other 315's!

Yeah, i was leaning towards the BFG KD's for the rear, but does that mean i should run the same brand up front? Since theres no reasoning to rotate my tires with the size differences, would it make a difference if i go another way with the fronts?

hmm you should go with 18's in the back so you can fit some 295 KDW 2's out back, they actually make a 335 to lol or just find some nice drag radials

lol. I would get 18's but they dont make them in 18's just 17 and smaller. How are the KDW's holding up anyway?

You dont need a DR in front so go with a 315 Nitto 555R out back and like a 245 or 275 cooper up front or something like that

nah rear tires are too expensive, just give me the 17 x 11's

Kuhmo 712's out front on my car, couldn't be happier, they are stickier than stock BFG's They are one of the 'cheaper' price wise tires, but they are pretty nice!
