  • Need Rear Lower Control Arm lengths

    Hey there guys. My car is currently in storage some 30 miles away for the winter, and I would like to get on to making a new set of lighter and stronger rear lower control arms as well as a panhard bar.

    If anyone has any rear control arms lying around, could I get the length from bolt hole center to bolt hole center? Same thing for the panhard bar.

    I'd rather save myself the some odd $300 and make my own. I need this to know what length tubing I need to cut. I'll test these after I make them at the first autocross SCCA hosts, where they will perform great or fail epically.
    Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

    For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.

    I'll be right back with dimensions... running down to the garage. My stockers were just removed!

      Ok, here they are...

      LCA = 19-3/8" O.C.
      PHB = 43" O.C.

      If I may, I'd suggest Founders Performance... can't beat their prices!

        Thanks for that! Yeah, the prices there are better than any I found.

        I'll have to see what my costs will be for buying some Aurora rod ends, and a small length of chromoly tube. It may end up a bit cheaper than buying those from that site, but I'm definitely bookmarking that site now.

          Definitely good deals on there. I'd factor in your time spent too - is it really worth it?

              If you want a LCA upgrade on the cheap, just weld a piece of steel on the top of the C channel to make it boxed. Much better option than going through all that of making tubular ones.

                Well, how many people can say they made their own parts for their car? Cool factor is the only thing I can think of now lol. That and I really want chromoly adjustable LCA's for strength and weight savings because my car needs all the help it can get lol. My goal is to get it under 3000 lbs without any major stripping.

                    hmm...that seems doable, so I need to lose more than that. 2500 it is (or as close to it as humanly possible). That's crazy light but wouldn't that be awesome?! That would make up for having a V6 under the hood.
