Thinking about lowering my car - opinions?

Looks like the plan from here is to save my money for something better than average stuff and just *possibly* cut down the stock springs.

Has anyone done this?

no the stance is the same but the hood and spoiler are gone. i just dont have the rear tire to make it look good.

28 front doesnt work well. will rub also.
lowering srpings dont work well for drag racing. thats why i went back to cut stockers in the rear. francis picked up like .2 in the 60 switching back to stock cut stockers also.
also stiffer front (common for lowering springs) will hurt the 60. with the stuff missing off the front you should use 275-300 front. i run 325lb.
i could make my car hook with the prokit but it was only by doing things completely backwards from the norm.
had to remove the bumpstops so the car would squat like 2 inches. very low tire pressure.
here is eibach prokit with home valved bilstiens for road racing. notice front tires up but no extension.

Larry, what do you think of cutting the stock front springs for now? I think I need to leave the rear alone cause things are tight back there as it is. I may lower the rear too after Reiter's takes care of the fender rolling, but that is down the road.

yes you can cut them.. the top of the spring is flat anyway to it will still sit in there just fine.. al you do it twist the spring around a little and it fits fine..

ok cool. are you sure thats the same thing with a 4th gen too?

it would be really nice if I could just get a sping compressor on it and cut it while its in its mount so I dont have to take it out!

pretty sure cutting is safe. I dont see why it wouldnt be. I know a lot of people over on tech have cut their springs.

not that I know of. I am pretty sure a lot of people put lower their car with the stock struts/shocks and its fine. remember guys, I am just looking to lower the front like maybe 1"
