The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. "Do it the way you want the first time." I hate doing things twice! I just had to remove the gas tank in the my chevelle because it started leaking and I had to take dash bac part because the fuel gauge is inaccurate.
How many miles are on you dampners? I would lean toward replacing them with something that would compliment your lowering springs.
Shock are the one item that make the biggest difference in ride/handling. Anybody who plays around with suspensions will strongly suggest spending money on good shocks.

60k miles on the dampers. I would like to do a lot to the car, I could easily go out and spend 2-3k on some nice stuff this winter, but that just cant happen. If I do lowering springs I might put new stock shocks on it, but a QA1 coilover setup is just out of the question right now unfortunately. I dont think I need it anyway, other than to say I have it.
With new struts and lowering springs, it would prbly drive pretty smooth!

save $ then buy I'd at least throw some QA1s under there if your gonna change the struts.
Even if I had the extra cash laying around, I still dont think I would blow it on QA1's. I dont think my car needs them to hook, that 28" tire compensates for a lot.
You know how it is with money. I am looking for a budget minded solution to lower the car and making it look better. My main goals are looks here, and to put money into other parts of the car that could use it more. Its easy to come in here and say buy QA1's.
Has anyone just cut the stock springs down? Im pretty sure I seen a post on tech that Larry 1BADAIR has done that.

not just coming in here telling you to throw away $ on high dollar parts. If you wanted my honest opinion I wouldn't change a thing up there until I could afford AFCOs or Strange shocks but it seems your set on doing it now with a tight budget. Yes you car should have no problem hooking on the current setup but last I heard you were planning on going faster and thats when you'll truly benefit from a good set of shocks up front. If your on a tight budget like most of us I'd just cut the springs or get something cheap and swap em.

Maybe cutting the springs is the best bet then, that way I save my money for something better. And not have $200 invested into something mediocre.

i thik maybe you should listen to me and get the taller front tire like your supposed to have and not a 25 inch tire on there.. and then see how it looks.. if anything just cut a 1/2 a coil or something off the front and all it good if it still has too much gap

nothing wrong wtih my tires. they are like a 25.7" I hate having a huge sidewall, looks ghey on the front IMO. a taller tire may close the gap a fraction, but it will actually make the front higher. that is definately not what I want. I want to close the gap by lowering the car onto the tire, not fill it up with a huge sidewall.

ohh i thought u said it was just under 25 inches.. either way i would still just cut the front spring like a half a coil and it will drop it enough to where you will be happy.. if not take it out and cut a tad more

nope. its just under 26. its the norm for what most ppl run.
I will prbly start at like 1/2 coil, I wonder if I cut a full coil if that will be wayyy too much? I ask cause wont the spring not line up right on its perch if I only cut half?

That stance looks really good! what is different on it now? do you still have that hood and spoiler?
no the stance is the same but the hood and spoiler are gone. i just dont have the rear tire to make it look good.
