Tire Install hook-up??

Wondering if anyone in the 'community' has a hook-up (someone YOU trust) to install rubber on aftermarket rims...maybe buy the rubber too. Preferrably someone in the SE region.

Short story, went into Belle Tire here in Brighton inquiring on rubber and install prices for my new rims. First, rubber was $$$$$. Second, I inquired on their process and care installing rubber only to get "we're pretty good...don't scratch too many". WTF !?!?! Chuckling along with him, thinking he can't be serious, he reinforces it by saying, "...about a 98% success rate."

Everything was a blur after that as all I could think of was a scratch in my new wheel or worse wheelS!!

I ahve always had good luck with the service at Discount tire. Belle Tire are hacks as far as I'm concerned. Always gotten good prices on everything I have bought at Discount Tire too.

I should look him up...I'd like to keep it local. Business card I got was David Conway (Asst Mgr)....the card was in front of the computer he was working from, but don't want to make any assumptions. Guy was a tool...either way.

What size wheel and what tires are you looking at?

Just another thing to look for is to see if the changer has a black semi-flexible shoe that rests against the rim to change the tire. It is a dupont material that states right on the packaging that it is 100% garanteed to not scratch the rim.

I've got a set of Fikse's on order that will be here soon (18 x 9.5 and 11). Rubber will more than likely be Michelin - 275 35 and 315 30.

Its nothing against you. Mounting tires are not hard, its removing the tire that can be a pain on low profile models.

I am not sure our balancer will fit a 11" wheel and I would rather not have the liability.
