    Hey everyone,

My rotors on my cobalt are kinda rusting...a lot

So I'm looking to get some new rotors and pads here soon.

I'm planning on buying a set of Hawk HPS pads, but I'm stuck on the rotors.

Mine seem to get hot pretty easily - maybe it's due to the fact that they're shitty and possibly warped (the "spots" on the rotor?), but I was looking at EBC Slotted and dimpled rotors. I was wondering if A) Slots actually do a whole lot, or am I paying for looks (I've heard many opinions on both sides of the fence here) and B) How will slotted rotors work in the winter? I've heard water/snow could freeze in the slots, expand and crack the rotor.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Cracking during winter is usually drilled rotors, not slotted. The slots (and dimples) let gas escape between the pad and the rotor, the also shave a tiny bit of pad off every time you stop. While they usually stop about the same as regular rotors, they USUALLY (if made from good materials) wont fade as easily, but will have increased pad wear.

    Correct me if im wrong.

that rust isnt a problem unless you are worried about cosmetics.

Well, that's good to know, I guess I don't need brakes just yet. I still have like 3/16" on my pads (I think that's the lowest).
