if your removing the ball joint to replace it use the pickle fork (prefer one on an air hammer its very easy) BUT you DO NOT have to remove the ball joint to do the strut??

START RANT alright well i'm sorry if this sounds bad but if i'm the only guy that needs to remove this ball joint then i will GIVE my car away and give up. I spent 2 hours trying every ****ing thing to remove it without removing the ball joint screw to the spindle, since its rusted somehow and it ain't possible. The shock and strut mount just laughs at me and says f u.

SO i will be in detroit on friday at woodward and working on my car saturday at Glen's house. If you would like to come and give a hand and show me and a few others on how to remove the shock and spring without removing the spindle i would really like that. Hell i would buy you a 6 pack. Since there is no HOW TO on how to do it without removing one one of the ball joints. END RANT

Sorry if i sound like an ass but its been a long day and i'm stressed for my job interview

Fred ill be there this weekend, cruise friday night and working on the car with glen while kolin works on saturday. Want to help lol??

              posted how
loose the 4 nuts/bolts on the top of each side.
              loose sway bar
              remove lower bolts.
push down( prybar may be needed) on the lower arm and pull the bottom of the strut forward. falls right out

That's how I did it on my car. No problems, just broke one of the sway bar end links when I took it off, so I replaced it. '93 Formula with about 150k on the clock when I did the fronts.

sorry larry i see now. And yes i tried it that way guys and nothing. I took the sway bar linkage off took the lower 2 bolts off of the shock and the 4 on top and pressed down on the lower arm and i couldn't push low enough to give the shock enough room to get out. Guess i have a freak for a car lol!!

                      use a jack handle.
pop the lower out first not the top
