  • Who has Bilstein / Koni shocks?

    I am looking to get new shocks soon and am having a hard time deciding between Bilsteins or Koni. I have read the topic to death but really feel like I need to experience both before deciding. Does anybody have either Bilsteins or Konis on their 4th gen and wouldn't mind taking me for a quick ride so I can see how they feel and perform? I live in Kalamazoo and wouldn't mind driving a little ways. I REALLY appreciate the help!

    Konis take the cake, IMO.

      I'm running KYB's on my car. I had Konis and hated them. I sold them for super cheap just to get them out of my garage. They had like 200 miles on them.

        I have slp billstiens on all 4 bought them from summitt way cheaper than from slp they had the slp part #s on the box just put them on last fall didn't drive it much after that but liked what I felt they were on the summitt site good luck with your pick.

          SLP SS - do you have the stock springs with those?

          Everyone - I am back on the east side of the state pretty frequently. Can I meet any of you at some point just to see how the different shocks feel? Like I said, hearing other people's opinions only goes so far.

            I have the Koni's but with Strano Springs (550# fronts 150# rears)
            The front shocks are set a bit on the firm side and the rears are set 1/4 turn from full soft.
            The ride is definetely firm but doesn't have the harsh impacts like the stock shocks do.
            Bottom line is rough roads will still feel rough but the crashing impacts are gone.

            I would have no problem giving rides to whom ever wants one.

              i have bilsteins on my car and autocross it i well never run another setup with out them.

                yes stock springs, won't have insurance back on till April mine will ride diff, than yours, mine is a rag top with bmr subframes weld on type, plus a sphon tunnel brace, and a shock strut brace,

                  I also have factory SLP Bilstiens and factory Eibach springs on my 1997 SS. The ride is deffinately stiffer than on my 94 Z28, but not jarring. I like it, but I dont really have enough tire on the car to really push it in a curve to make em work im my opinion. Eric L
