when i had to drive my old firebird v6 in the winter i had hankook zovaks winter tires on stock camaro rims. I can't remember the size though they were definately narrow. They were incredible. i never even got close to stuck with 100 lbs of salt in the ttop well. I would sell them to you but some jerk stole them from our barn one day. They only had one frickin winter on them (driven sparingly that winter as well)

could 15'' rims from an 83 camaro work on my 99? for winter only

I'm pretty sure they can be, based on the recommendations I've seen from the guys in other MiFbody.com threads. Of course, all the usual caveats apply -- your speedo will be messed up, so best to figure out early how to adjust for it, and just watch out for potential clearance issues. From what I'm gathering here, though, you probably want a fairly narrow tire for winter anyways.

well I could prolly use the speedo on my gps, my gauge is already off because the guy I bought the car from had larger tires.
