  • Intrax Lowering Springs?

I am thinking about purchasing some Intrax lowering spring for my 94 z28 and want to know if anyone has purchased these in the past? I am really just trying to figure out if there worth the $100 shiped new in box. Are they a good deal or are they just a cheap off brand? Any helps appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Nick

What do you know about these springs ?
what is the drop amount ? spring rate ?

In my experience you get what you pay for. Also keep in mind that when lowering a car it's always a good idea to replace the shocks too.
Mainly becase the stock 4th gen Decarbon shocks are really crap and incapapble of dampening the stock springs rates let alone a stiffer spring with less travel.

Your better off looking at a Spring/Shock Pkg.

Intrax springs are not cheap springs at all there from what I know a good mid level company but more into imports. I had a set for my probe gt and they where good springs and my set cost around 269 if I remember right

P.S there a very stiff spring

Take it from me - contact Creight at CS3Automotive or go to Summit and buy a set of polyurithane bumpstops. My shocks and springs are brand new but my bump stops are gone and I bottom out ALL the time.

Wow 1.8 -2" is a huge drop on these cars and will cause the stock shocks (and most aftermarket) to fail prematurely. BTW the stock Decarbon shocks are Orange. Bilstein or Koni are probably your best choices for shocks because of their better quality construction.

The big drop will also make the car ride on or be into the bumstops more often making for a very rough ride.

Thats because manufactures do not make "stock" replacement bump stops. People are using a bump stop thats a Jeep/universal part. I'll need to find the p/n.

You will need some good shocks with drop springs. My suggestion is to wait untill you can save up the money before installing them. Unless you want to go thru the trouble of taking the fronts apart down the road.

Also with lowering your car, you will need a adjustable panhard bar to recenter the rear and some lower control arm relocation brackets to correct your control arm geometry.

Thanks for your help I'll have to see if i can save up some money in the next few weeks so i can get the stops, shocks, relo-brackets, and a panhardrod. Man am i glad i asked about these springs because i was just gonna put them on w/o doing a thing to my suspension. Oh well just means ill have to wait longer for engine and drivetrain work.

I've got KYB AGX shocks on mine with the Eibach 1.5 lowering springs. My shocks bottom out a lot - they hate "inverse speed bumps" (IE: sharp dips in the road). But, I don't have any bump stops right now... I think with bump stops it'd be fine.
