  • Older BFG Questiono?

well my dad found a set of tires yesterday that he told me about and wondered if i could use them for anything, and i have another set of wheels that i could put them on or let someone on here know about them and see if you could use them, they seem to be priced right

the tires are (seem to be older) but BFG Comp. TA 255/50/ZR17 nothing fancy with the tread pattern but lots of life left. not even sure they are sporty tires but look fine.

would these be bad to put on some Z06 17" wheels or not? He only wants 200 for the whole set?

    Let me know Thanks

I absolutely LOVED my BFG Comp T/As and really wish i could have another set.

I bought my car with them - only 30% tread left. They handled amazing and were a better tire than what i have now in every category. I could almost say switching to my F1s was about as much of a difference as taking the sway bars off. Not realizing how good they were I was trying to burn them off to get new tires. I pulled holeshots all over the place and actually wound up with multiple nail punctures and a slipping stock clutch before I took any significant tread off them!

If i ever come across a set of 275s Im buyin em in a heartbeat. I heard from someone that BFG discontinued them for being "too good of a tire"

they'd fit okay on 17x9. the outside wall of the tire would probably be pretty close to flush with the rim.

how old are they? The sidewalls look alright or are they showing some wear? Check for a manufacturing date on the sidewall and see how old they really are

i've got 245's on the front and 275's on the back. same size rim. the 245 is a little narrow but i think the 255 would look okay.
are you running nitto's? maybe that's why your 275 sits almost flush.

Definitely check for drying out/dry rot before running them. They have tiny "stress cracks" if you look close. If you see these, I wouldn't mount them up.

woa hold on... those arent the same tire as I had. I had Comp T/As, those are "Pro Comp TA ZR4s." The tread pattern I had was completely different than that.
