I'm ready for tires

I have the Torque Thrust M chrome 10.5 x 17 rear and 9 x 17 front wheels. I'm putting 315s in the rear with 275s up front. The choice in tires drops off real quick when you get into the 315s. So I've narrowed it down to several choices. My route to work has two tight 90* corners that I hit pretty hard then a stop sign. From there I will usualy run thru the gear till about 90-100 then down to 60-65 for about 3 miles to a light left right S curve. Then a banked 90* with a 200yrd dash to another banked 50* curve.That runs out a quarter mile to next 40* corner. The next intersection it pretty busy, so I tend to run 1st and 2nd pretty hard. Then to the highway ramp which offers some fun depending on traffic. If you've had any of these tires I would like your opinion on how many miles they might last.I don't do any Grand burn outs but I'll lite them up 4-5 times a summer. I'm really liking the 2 for 1 price of the HTR Z.

Sumitomo HTR Z for $450
Kumho Ecsta XS for $800
Nitto NT555 EP for $900

I'll find out in a week or so, but I may be adding 15-20 miles a day for work. If that happens then I'll probably drop down to a 285 rear so I can get a longer lasting tire.

Wow thats tight lol, and i thought the 305s were bad, I heard of a few puting the 315s in the rear and Something like i thin 295's in the front. not sure how they did it though

I as well am looking for new tires, and have looked at the Sumito HTR Zs. The price is so attractive. The thing that really scares me is the 160 treadwear rating. I can't speak for the traction or actual treadlife, just saying that rating is scary. Sounds like a fun run to work in the morning though.

some of the review show 20k and up on small fwd cars. most of the corvettes, camaros and mustangs seem to be less but, they are taking them to the track with little complaint about traction to dollars.

Yes it is a fun ride to work and back.

Thats obviously what you have to weigh, are you going to get as much traction as the higher dollar tires? No, you get what you pay for. Do you go to the track all the time, or once a month? If its the latter, I would go with the sumis. Even if you like to spin them all the time, its only 200 for a new set of rears.

I don't know where you guys are located. But if you need a hook-up on tires let me know, and I can give you some guy's numbers.

I have sumitomo 315s on my 11s...actually i have a brand new sumitomo 315 never mounted brand new still with stickers. PM if your interested. If you go with sumitomos go through tirerack by far the cheapest. as far as wear goes i know you can go through nittos pretty wuick

I got the sumi's with my rims from Tomzwheels.com I got the all four for 349 275/40/17 up front and 315/35/17 in back I think they have a deal going on right now for the tires and there only 300 a set plus shipping Im happy with them btw check on ls1tech.com and call them and ask about the deal
for me it was cheaper then tirerack.com

Just a heads up, if you buy from tirerack, you can go pick up the tires to avoid shipping costs. It isn't all that far away, I don't remember where, though, Gary knows, I'll see if I can find where it is.
