  • Rear suspension upgrade suggestion

Ok I'm looking to upgrade the rear end suspension on my car. Its going to be a Daily driver for the most part. But will see some test & tune days at miland. Here is what I have been looking at.

Spohn rear lower control arms Tubular chrome molly's or should I go with Spohn Boxed mild steel's?

The rear shocks adjustable KYB's or a good set of non-adjustable Bilstein HD's?

Not sure what sway bar I want to go with yet so any suggestions on that would be appreciated. Also should I worry about messing around with changing out the stock torque arm or will it be fine for a DD?

for DD's stay with mild steal.
Is your car lowered ? If so, you need a adjustable panhard bar and relocation brackets.

Feel free to contact me for any suspension parts.

If the car is lowered, this will throw everything off this would be my first question. second question is what is the car used for? drag? autocross?
third question what tire are you using?

if its a street drag setup ive used this combo on a lot of cars, its cheep and works very well.

whatever lca's you want to run, autocross cars would favor a tube style rather than a box style lca.
relocation brackets, depending if the car is stock ride height will determine what hole you use. if you have an angle finder -3 degrees with a stock torque arm is a good starting point.
comp. eng. 3 way shocks. I have a very good idea as to what to set them at but if your going to the track the ideal way is to set the shocks tight and adjust the instant center using the relocation brackets. if you loosen the shocks and the 60ft. gets faster the rear suspension wants less action and vise versa.

I have all UMI also and I love there product

If you don't plan on doing a big time upgrade the stock Torque Arm will work.
If you do get one make sure it's ajustable and if it's UMI get the install hardware, the stock bolts are not long enough.

Looking to do a street car/weekend drag runner. Nothing top notch but some thing that I can drive every day and still take to the track on the weekend if I wanted to.

Car is not lowered, will be running on 255/45/R17 Kumho Ecsta MX Tires, I'm looking for the car to be a Daily Driver and a car that I can take to the drag way and go down the track nothing special.

And thanks to every one for the info looks like I got some reading to do on the shocks still but I think I'm starting to get the idea of what I want to go with.

6 speeds do wonders to driveline and suspension parts.
I also bent the axle bracket for a BMR ta once
